Manufacturer Description:

Top selling jazz shoe with Neoprene inserts under the arch.

Kat’s Thoughts:

Truly, this shoe is probably my number-one favorite shoe (if I had to pick just one).  Unlike a lot of other jazz shoes, this one has wet-suit grade neoprene as the insert.  Meaning this shoe HUGS your arch like a dream (and gives some support to your foot too!).  The neoprene also allows the shoe to stretch ~1/2 a size in addition to the amount that the leather will stretch too.
Color-wise, this shoe compares favorably to the Bloch tan (and well, black is black).  Many teams that I have fit will allow either the Bloch Neoflex (S0495) or this shoe since the tans match almost exactly.  This shoe does come up higher on the foot – so those with a high instep will potentially find this shoe more difficult to wear than a lower cut.  So Danca did come out with this shoe in a lower-cut, more of a Neoflex style (JZ76).
I really like the heel on this shoe.  The back of this shoe just h*u*g*s the foot and so is really good for those skinny-minny heels.  The cut is a “v” rather than a “u” cut opening.  When you have the v-cut back – the heel fits much more snug than a u-cut.
The only complaint I have received about this shoe is that the rubber is “stickier” than other brands of shoes.  However, the increased traction would be very welcome on slick floors (like tile or laminate).  So Danca DOES offer this shoe with a suede sole (JZ43A) so if you are in need of suede…. go to that product.
It’s an all around, very versatile shoe at a very good price point.

Sizing Info:  Generally – these have been very true to street shoe size.  I’d still recommend a 1/2 to 1 size up though if you want growing room.  Also – men’s sizes really need to have 1.5-2 sizes added to their US street shoe size to equate it appropriately in this shoe.  In addition – an adult 3 is the equivalent of a child 1 street shoe.  An adult 4 = child 2, etc.  X-wide is not the best stocked and could take up to a few extra weeks.

Material/Content:  Leather with actual wet-suit grade neoprene (read:  super stretchy) as the arch insert.

Intro Date:  Unknown

Discontinue Date:  n/a

Other Notes:  So Danca keeps these pretty well stocked at all times.  If they’re out – we’ve only seen a week or two (normally) as a backorder.  Generally – long enough to get a container through US customs.

*A note about prices – while the MSRP is listed – it is just that.  Please remember that your local dance store also has to cover shipping costs, lights, rent, other utilities, and oh yeah – HUMANS!  When you go into a local dance store – please realize that you are possibly paying a premium for their expertise, knowledge, and having (most) products there on hand.  That’s not cheap.  Please don’t go “window shopping” there only to save a few bucks.  Especially on products under $100, it’s really not worth it.  Support your local store. Please.  When you do, you validate why we have physical stores and why we, as store owners, dedicate ourselves to providing you with products and knowledge we can stand behind.
